Kerry Hilderman

In 1981, after graduating from the Northern Institute of Massage in Regina, Saskatchewan I began my practice Massage Therapy. The course was a 2-year program and I was fortunate enough to have trainers that had many years of experience in various osteopathic techniques. I started working at the YMCA in Regina where I practiced for 4 yrs. I then moved on and started my own private practice, which I ran for 6 years.

Through my own injuries and pain, I found out about Nucca, I drove to Calgary from Regina for regular treatments. I had such dramatic results in reduction of my pain that it caused me to look further into the modality.

In 1991, my wife and I decided to move to Calgary. Timing was right and I had the opportunity to start a new Practice in Massage working with Dr. Hasick in his clinic.

Over the years, my training continued. Through Upledger Institute, I added CranioSacral Therapy to my modalities as well as Somato Emotional Release and Visceral Manipulation. As well, a two year training in Integrated Body Psychotherapy. Other various Massage modalities - Onsen, TBM, Fascial work, Bodywork with PD Seminars. My most recent is the training in Active Release Therapy. Life has been an ever learning experience and has helped me to integrate all these into my work in Massage.

My work has served me and given me never ending growth. I am grateful to be able to share my experiences. My gratitude extends to my wife Lynne, daughters, Kaney, Lexi and Nikki and to my clients who have been an ever encouraging source of wisdom and strength.

Lynne Hilderman

Lynne has been working in the alternative health industry since 2003. She is a visionary and has the ability to see the bigger picture. She sees the need for functionality and the need for on going care of our spaces both inside and out. She loves working with people and creating an environment that provides a space to enhance harmonization of all aspects of our well being.

She received her certificate in Massage Therapy from Mount Royal College, prior to that she specialized in engineering drafting working as a space planner and project manager.

Her personal areas of specialization are Massage Therapy, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Healing Touch, Mind Clearing and also Administration and Human Resources.

She chose to work in this field because she was always interested in mind body connection, the natural nature of our health and our innate wisdom to heal our bodies. She was introduced to massage therapy when she had the goal of running a marathon and 2 weeks before the race she hurt her low back. She was led to a Massage Therapist who changed her life and how she viewed it. Since then she has delved into her body, it's aches, it's pains and it's voice, and how it teaches her more deeply about truth. Since then she has been led on a journey of self discovery and has been able to help herself and others along the way and she really looks forward to aiding you in your journey to wholeness.

She lives, works and plays in Calgary, Alberta with her husband/partner Kerry. They have three beautiful daughters Kaney, Lexi and Nikki.

Her personal motto is "Live-Laugh-Learn-Love"

Some of her hobbies are Home making, music - playing violin, yoga, spending time in nature, travelling, exercising and moving my body thru time and space. She loves following her passion, studying new things, and being guided to interesting places.

Her favorite sports are running, and cycling of any sort. Swimming, skiing and anything outdoors are also deeply satisfying. She is a four time Ironman Canada Triathlon finisher and she has a deep appreciation for the dedication of time and commitment it takes to achieve our goals.

The things that make her feel most happy the practice of surrendering to what already is in every moment and whenever she can remember. Spending time with people and being in nature.

Marty Calhoun BSc., P.T.

Physical Therapist
CranioSacral Therapist

When I began first Year University, I believed I wanted to be a veterinarian and so I studied Biology, but after two years realized this was not exactly it. I continued on a journey to find my passion, attending other university programs, next in Nutrition and then Kinesiology. I was 1 year from obtaining a degree in Kinesiology, when I was accepted at Queens University in Physical Therapy. This was it! I had discovered my niche. Helping people in pain was my passion! I graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy (PT) in 1996 and have been practising since that time.

Since my early years of practicing as a PT, I have used active therapeutic exercise/movements and techniques rather than passive modalities (such as ultrasound, heat and tens). I began post graduate studies with the Robin Mackenzie Institute. In short Mackenzie is a breakthrough approach in treating back and neck pain and is also invaluable in correcting the "core" cause of many full body pain and dysfunction issues.

My approach over the years has further evolved to include several other techniques, blending sensitive manual ("hands on") release work with active therapeutic exercises/movements. This combination has proved to be a potent approach to addressing the "root" cause of a wide array of body pain and dysfunction. CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Butler Neural Tissue Mobilization, Zero Balancing and Visceral Manipulation are among the manual approaches I have studied.

I see the need to assess and treat each person as "unique", thereby discovering their specific tissue and structural requirements, often employing a blend of therapeutic exercise and manual techniques to free restrictions, correcting and removing "obstacles to healing".

My studies are ongoing toward these goals as is my own journey of self exploration and healing.

Rebecca Swan

I have always had an interest in healing. As a young girl I often dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. That was until I came to the realization that not only would I have to help healthy animals, but very sick ones as well. Needless to say I was off onto the next profession VERY quickly. Growing up I spent a lot of time repeatedly (almost habitually) injuring myself in various sporting circumstances. It seemed I was always in arenas, my father coached and I was always cheering on my older brother. This, combined with an avid interest in almost trying almost anything once. I was hooked on finding out how the body worked.

My first taste of rehab came in the form of Wilderness First-Aid at the tender age of nine... I had the bug even then. By the time I was fourteen years old, I knew the field I wanted to be was rehabilitation... now in the human form. At the age of sixteen I was in a work experience program with Calgary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre, which lead to a permanent position, and so my course was set.

I took my massage training at the Mount Royal College Centre for Complimentary Health. Most recently, I spent five years with Panther Sports Medicine performing Exercise Rehabilitation. This gave me a wonderful insight in how exercise propels and advances the healing process. I have a passion for lacrosse, and for three years now I have had the pleasure of providing my expertise to the Simon Fraser University Men's Field Lacrosse Program, along with the Calgary Master's Lacrosse League and the Tri-City John B's (based in Vancouver). My most recent personal interests traveling (ask me about Australia), hiking, climbing, disc golf (I recommend this to anyone and everyone - a must try!) and ultimate Frisbee (I must improve my skills before I make any recommendations to anyone!). This season I have decided to play Australian Rules Football - a contact sport that is a mix of soccer and rugby... wish me luck!

Jenny McCombie

Jenny spent most of her career in the corporate sector working in customer service, marketing support, and corporate training. After years of climbing the corporate ladder, spending hours in front of the computer and even more hours in airports, Jenny felt it was time to make a change to a more relaxed way of life. She decided to redirect her career to assist others who were feeling the stress and pains that comes along with the fast paced corporate lifestyle.

She graduated from Mount Royal College in 2005 from the Massage Therapy program and has been practicing for the last 3 years. She has been well known for her ability to balance deep pressure, stretching, and relaxation into her treatments. Most recently, she has taken Hot Stone Therapy and looks forward to adding more modalities to her practice.

She believes that prevention is the best medicine. She can coach her clients on some of the simplest things one can do to stay healthy.

Jenny now enjoys a more balance lifestyle with interests including hiking, traveling and Latin dance.

Meredith Brand P.Eng, RMT

I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2002 with a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, having specialized in biomechanics. Despite my interest in the dynamics of human anatomy and movement, my search for first employment landed me a job in the Oil and Gas industry where I spent the last 8 years working as a Professional Engineer. Although a challenging and rewarding career, life led me to confront my unsatisfied feelings. I wanted to invest my energy in something that I found more personally rewarding, and live a healthier more balanced lifestyle.

I have always been very physically active, involved in various competitive sports with dance and yoga continuously being an integral part of my life. Following my desire to promote wellness of body and mind, in 2009 I went to India to study to become a yoga instructor and allow myself to experience all aspects of a yogic lifestyle. Also recently graduated from the 2 year program at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in Calgary, I have been working at Britannia Bodyworks as a massage therapist since January 2010. Embracing my new career path as a yoga instructor and massage therapist I am able to balance my technical interests in the dynamics of the human body with my energetic awareness, and my understanding of the importance of listening to your body, calming your mind, and the harmony of that integration.

I am invigorated to continue to explore and combine different modalities of approaching wellness from inside and out.
